On Monday, Danes Bo Svensson and Bo Henriksen were named as the main contenders to replace the recently sacked Horst Steffen as Werder Bremen coach.
Now, Bild reports that Henriksen is no longer in the running. The tabloid claims that Werder never made contact with Mainz, where the Dane remains under contract following his dismissal, regarding a potential transfer fee.
This leaves former Mainz and Union Berlin coach Bo Svensson as the clear favourite for the role.
However, no final decision has been made yet, with the 46-year-old reportedly still considering other offers.
Svensson has been out of work since his dismissal from Union Berlin in December 2024.
