SC Paderborn’s Laurin Curda played a key role in the club’s promotion to the Bundesliga, scoring the winner in their 2-1 play-off victory over VfL Wolfsburg on Monday night.
Speaking in a post-match interview, the 24-year-old could hardly believe what had just happened.
“I don’t know how many more days I will need to come to terms with this. With the red card, it became a bit easier,” Curda said, before reflecting on his goal.
“We just wanted to put a lot of balls into the box, and I’m simply present there. We were already applying a huge amount of pressure, and it’s just good that it worked out in the end," he continued, looking ahead to the upcoming celebrations:
“I'll just see what happens now!"
