Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz is reportedly signing for Southampton on loan ‘with immediate effect’.

With the January transfer window open as of this morning, Sport BILD reports that his loan spell at Hamburger SV will end immediately.

Peretz spent the first-half of the current Bundesliga season with the Hanseatic club, but only played two DFB-Pokal matches.

In December, Peretz revealed that he “expected to be number one. So far, this has not been the case. Of course, I'm not happy about it”.

The Bavarians seemed to be certain that the 25-year-old would be HSV's first choice, but Daniel Heuer-Fernandes remained between the posts.

Peretz has made seven appearances for Bayern since joining from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023, where he played 24 times in UEFA competition.

Peretz will become the Saints' fourth signing from Germany this campaign after Damion Downs, Kaspar Jander and Léo Scienza.
