Canada will be without their captain when they take on Suriname in the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Nations League.

As announced by Canada Soccer, Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has withdrawn from the squad as a "precautionary measure due to physical exhaustion".

Davies, 24, has 16 goals and 17 assists in 56 caps for Canada.

He has made 15 appearances for Bayern this season and played 90 minutes against Benfica and St. Pauli last week.

Davies is out of contract at the end of the season and his future at Bayern is in doubt. It was recently reported that Bayern have made him a final contract offer.
