Much to the delight of Eintracht Frankfurt, the door has re-opened in recent days regarding Arnaud Kalimuendo.

Sky Germany understands that concrete talks have started with the player and Nottingham Forest have been informed.

Kalimuendo is considered a serious option should a move for Newcastle United's William Osula fail to materialize.

However, Frankfurt’s focus is currently on SV Elversberg marksman Younes Ebnoutalib and one of either Osula or Kalimuendo.

It was reported on Saturday morning, December 27, that the Hessen club's first bid for 22-year-old Ebnoutalib was turned down

As for Kalimuendo, the French striker is out of favour with Forest, playing just 82 minutes of Premier League football this season.

Nonetheless, the 23-year-old has managed to find the back of the net twice in the UEFA Europa League in just four appearances so far.

A loan appears to be the most likely route, but it depends on whether Frankfurt can shift Elye Wahi or Michi Batshuayi.
