Some unnamed clubs from the top of Denmark's football pyramid have expressed interest in Paul Fernie, Sky Germany reports.

The sporting director is doing an excellent job at German second-division side SV Darmstadt 98 and is still under contract.

However, the Danish clubs are not alone in their pursuit of the 38-year-old, with clubs from the English Championship also keeping tabs.

Fernie, who first joined the Hessen club in April 2024, has been credited for helping Darmstadt to push for promotion.

As things stand in the 2.Bundesliga table, Die Lilien are currently in fourth-place and trailing leaders FC Schalke 04 by just two points.

Prior to Darmstadt, Fernie cut his teeth in German football as head of scouting and club director of 3.Liga side SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
