A move to Spain could be on the cards for RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulácsi.

According to Sky Germany, the veteran goalkeeper has reached an agreement in principle with Villarreal CF.

For the deal to go through, Leipzig would first need to sign a replacement, with talks reportedly underway with Norway international and free agent Ørjan Nyland. The 35-year-old previously spent the majority of the 2022/23 season with RB Leipzig.

After relying on Gulácsi as their first-choice goalkeeper for many years, RB Leipzig have decided to hand the starting role to the younger Maarten Vandevoordt next season.

Gulácsi, 36, has spent 11 years with Die Roten Bullen.
