Since joining Werder Bremen from FC Copenhagen three years ago, Jens Stage has established himself as a key figure in midfield for the Bundesliga side.

Speaking to the German press on Tuesday, the 29-year-old made it clear that he’s happy to remain with the Green-Whites unless an extraordinary opportunity arises.

"It would have to be something really special. Otherwise, it’s not interesting for me to leave the club," Stage said.

When asked what it would take to convince him to leave, the Dane added:

"That’s difficult. I could imagine that my perspective on it changes every year. What my family thinks about it is also very important."

Since arriving in Bremen, Stage has scored 20 goals and provided 11 assists in 104 appearances for the club.
