Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as the clear favourites to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
After initial reports on Sunday suggested the 19-year-old has decided to join PSG rather than Liverpool, French media now claim he has reached an agreement in principle on a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions.
According to L’Équipe, the transfer could be finalised soon, with the two clubs in “intensive” negotiations over the deal.
RB Leipzig previously rejected an offer worth around €100 million from Liverpool, but it is possible they could lower their demands for PSG.
A move to PSG is the player’s clear preference, and Red Bull chief Oliver Mintzlaff’s close relationship with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi could work in their favour.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leipzig are insisting on a fee of more than €100 million for Diomande, but he also reports the price could be reduced if an agreement is reached for the winger to remain at Die Roten Bullen on loan for another season.
