Sky Sports Germany journalist, Florian Plettenberg has declared that contract talks between Joshua Kimmich and Bayern Munich are moving in the right direction.

The news comes after both parties sat down to discuss the 30-year-old’s contract situation earlier this morning

In a tweet made shortly after 6pm (CET), Plettenberg announced that all parties are willing to extend beyond 2025.

Further details are now being discussed and there will be an attempt made to finalise the deal.

The news will come as a relief to many Bayern fans given Kimmich’s importance in the Bavarian club’s setup.

Furthermore, it appears as if relationships haven’t soured since Die Rekordmeister originally withdrew their initial offer to the midfielder last week
