After three years on loan at VfB Stuttgart, Alexander Nübel is set to leave the Swabian club and return to FC Bayern Munich.

However, Bayern bosses Christoph Freund and Max Eberl have confirmed that the 29-year-old is not expected to spend the upcoming season with the German champions, with the clear intention being to sell him this summer.

According to Sport Bild, several clubs are showing interest in Nübel, including Manchester City and Juventus FC.

A transfer fee in the region of €10-15 million has been mentioned for the goalkeeper, who is part of Germany’s World Cup squad.

Both Manchester City and Juventus are said to have already made contact with Nübel’s representatives, with the main obstacle appearing to be his reported €11 million-per-year salary – a level Juventus can't match after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

It has been suggested, however, that Bayern could be willing to cover part of the wage gap in order to help push through a transfer.
