As recently reported by a number of respected media outlets, Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies is on the verge of extending his expiring contract.

According to Sky Germany, there have been some recent adjustments to the deal that have led to a breakthrough in negotiations.

The deal will now run until 2030, rather than 2029 as originally planned. In return for the extra year, Bayern are prepared to increase the Canadian international's salary to €15 million, with the deal also including a substantial signing bonus and other performance-related add-ons.

Real Madrid and Liverpool have been linked with a move for Davies, but they appear to have come up empty-handed, with his new deal with Bayern expected to be announced in the near future.
