Franco Di Santo offers his help to Werder

Former Werder Bremen striker Franco Di Santo says he would like to help his ex-club get back to the Bundesliga.
Franco Di Santo says he would be ready to re-join Werder Bremen should his former club need him.

The 32-year-old striker – who is currently playing for San Lorenzo in his come country, Argentina – told Deichstube:

"I would love to return to Werder Bremen - even in the second division. I'm sure I could help them getting promoted."

Di Santo already offered a helping hand to Werder a year ago.

"I even tried to reach sporting director Frank Baumann," said Di Santo, who never managed to make contact with former club.

"I think it would have been respectful of him to at least tell me: 'I don't need you, I don't want you.'"

Di Santo played for Werder from 2013 to 2015, scoring 18 goals in 51 appearances.
