Werder not interested in bringing Di Santo back

Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann has reacted to recent comments made by Franco Di Santo.
Werder Bremen are not interested in bringing Franco Di Santo back, says sporting director Frank Baumann.

The former Werder striker, who now plays for Argentine side San Lorenzo, recently told Bremen-based media outlet Deichstube that he would love to come back to his old club.

Di Santo also said that he tried contacting Baumann a year ago to offer his help without getting a response.

"I simply believe that Franco still had my old cell number," Baumann told Kreiszeitung, adding that he replied via a third party as soon as he heard about Di Santo's offer.

"So Franco got his answer. I value Franco both as a person and as a footballer. But a return to Werder Bremen was not an issue for us at the time and is not today."
