Transfermarkt's English language offshoot goes so far as to report that VfL Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst is in Lancashire ahead of a move to Burnley FC.
German language sources nevertheless remain a bit cooler on the rumors, though they do mostly verify a report from the Athletic that negotiations with an English clubs are underway.

Sean Dyche and the Clarets must replace Chris Wood after their noveau riche relegation rivals Newcastle F.C. bought him out. Weghorst could serve as the perfect bargain replacement. All of this notwithstanding, the always reliable Thomas Hiete of German footballing magazine Kicker doesn't make much of the rumors in a write-up on Weghorst for the Magazine's website.
Werghorst could very well be visiting any number of clubs in the north of England, if he is indeed there in the first place. There have been a multitude of rumors involving "negotiations" with Burnley, Newcastle, and unspecified others. Transfermarkt's English language website reports the Burnley visit, yet the German one remains conspicuously silent.
A sale of Weghorst might not occur at all if other reports surfacing in the German language media are to be believed. Nmecha and Bialek are promising young strikers. Luca Waldschmidt can also work as a center-forward in a pinch. It nevertheless stands to reason that the Autostädter would like to retain veteran striker Daniel Ginczek as a fallback option in the event of a Weghorst departure.
Multiple sources, including Kicker, Bild, and local newspapers report that Ginczek is on his way to Fortuna Düsseldorf. The 30-year-old, who hasn't necessarily been terrible for the VfL when not injured, finally appears to have been offloaded to the Flingeraner after several seasons of endless transfer rumors.
