The 19-year-old Dutch midfielder supposedly headed to German champions FC Bayern München after the season will need an extended injury layoff after suffering a season-ending ankle injury. Ryan Gravenberch has been ruled out of the rest of Ajax's campaign and will, according to Dutch media reports, require six weeks recovery time.

Both Gravenberch and Ajax teammate Noussair Mazraoui have apparently agreed to personal terms with the German giants approximately one month ago. Neither transfer has officially been confirmed by either club despite the fact that most footballing media sources consider the deals to be done.

Gravenberch remains under contract with Ajax through the end of the 2022/23 season.
