Lothar Matthäus deems that Joshua Kimmich would make a good captain for both Bayern München and the German national team in the future.

The former German international believes Kimmich has the potential to follow in the footsteps of Philipp Lahm who used to captain both Bayern and Germany.

"For me, Kimmich is the face of FC Bayern's future. He can become captain within five years. Maybe even in the national team - like a second Philipp Lahm," Matthäus told Bild.

At the moment, Manuel Neuer is the captain of both Bayern München and Germany.

Kimmich, 23, has made 141 appearances for Bayern and represented Germany 36 times.
