After being dismissed from his managerial post at Hertha BSC, Fredi Bobic has also resigned his position on the German supervisory board.

In a sudden, totally unforeseen turn-of-events, the manager recently linked with the director's post at the German F.A. vacated by Oliver Bierhoff may have to take many years to re-build his managerial career, if he can at all. Bobic's success at the helm of the Eintracht Frankfurt office is now overshadowed by less than stellar results in charge of Stuttgart and spectacular failure at Hertha.
German footballing elder statesman Hans Joachim Watzke of Borussia Dortmund - who also sits on the DFL supervisory board - issued a statement expressing "regret" that his colleague had opted to resign. The DFL will need to find a replacement for Bobic, who sat on many committees, during a general meeting in March.
