Borussia Mönchengladbach will "learn lessons" from Sunday's 4-1 defeat against Hertha BSC, said 'Die Fohlen' head coach Daniel Farke after the final whistle.

Farke's men scored the opener 17 minutes into the match, but ended up losing by a clear margin after conceding four times.

"Football matches are often decided by the little things, and we didn’t get them right today; we weren’t able to create more clear-cut chances or defend our goal resiliently enough, and that’s why Hertha won," Farke said in a post-match interview.

"It was a really good away performance for the first 30 minutes, but we didn’t make the most of our dominance. Hertha were full of running today and fought for their lives. The momentum changed after their equaliser, and we only have ourselves to blame, as we gave the ball away too easily twice.

"We need to fight for every point in the Bundesliga, no matter who our opponents are. We will learn lessons from today’s game and battle hard to get a result against Bayern, as we need every point we can get," said the Gladbach coach with a view to this weekend's clash with Bayern Munich.
