Stuttgart boss: "We will definitely not hire a fifth coach this season"

Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle has guaranteed that Sebastian Hoeness will remain coach for the rest of the season.
Having already sacked three coaches this season, VfB Stuttgart are set to stick with Sebastian Hoeness for at least the rest of the season.

"We will definitely not hire a fifth coach this season, you can be sure of that," VfB Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle told DAZN after Sunday's 3-2 win over Bochum.

Hoeness took over from Bruno Labbadia a week ago on a contract that runs until 2025.

The former Hoffenheim coach hit the ground running in his first games in charge of the relegation-threatened club with wins over Nürnberg (1-0, DFB-Pokal) and Bochum (3-2, Bundesliga).

"He immediately developed a very good relationship with the team and has made a good arrival here," Wehrle said.

"That's why I'm convinced we'll be successful with him in the remaining games."

Before Labbadia, Pellegrino Matarazzo and Michael Wimmer were relieved of their duties.

Stuttgart currently sit in 16th place in the Bundesliga.
