Tresoldi, Rothe, and Ernst receive U21 call ups after injuries

The German FA confirmed three fresh nominations for the Germany U21 squad on Monday after Freiburg keeper Noah Atubolu, Mainz striker Nelson Weiper, and Hoffenheim defensive midfielder/fullback Marco John had to withdraw with injury.
The latest incarnation of Germany U21 head-coach Antonio di Salvo's DFB-Juniors squad required three fresh call-ups on Monday. Freiburg keeper Noah Atubolu, Mainz striker Nelson Weiper, and Hoffenheim midfielder Marco John will be unable to partake in the forthcoming fixtures duet to injury. The three top-flight players will be replaced by three youngsters currently playing in the 2. Bundesliga.

Hertha BSC goalkeeping prospect Tjark Ernst will take the place of Atubolu. Hannover 96 striker Nicolo Treslodi shall take Weiper's slot. Borussia Dortmund left-back Tom Rothe - currently on loan with Holstein Kiel - has been nominated to take the place of John. All three players have not yet earned a cap at Germany's highest youth level.

Treslodi is off to a strong start for Hannover this season, scoring two goals and registering three assists. Rothe too is thriving for his loan club; starting all five fixtures, scoring one goal, and serving as his squad's highest-rated player in German press sources such as Kicker Magazine and Sport Bild. Ernst recently took over for the departed Oliver Christensen. He's kept two clean sheets in three appearances.
