Wirtz set to stay at Leverkusen for years, says father and agent

Hans-Joachim Wirtz, the father and agent of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, has emphasized that he's expecting his son to stay at Bayer Leverkusen for at least two more years.
Florian Wirtz has been linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen, with all of Europe's top clubs probably keeping an eye on him.

However, as pointed out by his father and agent, Hans-Joachim Wirtz, the wonderkid has no plans of leaving Bayer Leverkusen anytime soon.

"Florian has a contract in Leverkusen until 2027. That is roughly how long he will stay at Leverkusen. There's no answer what will happen when. We should wait for the next two years and then we'll see what happens," Hans-Joachim Wirtz told Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.

With the 20-year-old still very young, enjoying an outstanding season with Leverkusen and having a great relationship with both his coach and teammates, his father believes there is little argument at present to think about a move away.

"Florian is very lucky to have Xabi Alonso, who brings a lot of qualities. He has a great relationship with the whole team. It's the right coach at the right time," said Hans-Joachim Wirtz.
