Trapp and Toppmöller concerned about Europe after draw: "The remaining schedule is brutal."
Eintracht Frankfurt squad captain Kevin Trapp and head-coach Dino Toppmöller both expressed displeasure at having only gained one point in last night's home fixture against SV Werder Bremen.
The Hessen-based club remains in pole position to secure the Bundesliga's second Europa League qualification place, yet faces a challenging schedule in the season's six remaining weeks.
Eintracht Frankfurt remain six points ahead of European rivals SC Freiburg and FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga table following last night's 1-1 draw with SV Werder Bremen. The result nevertheless left SGE squad captain Kevin Trapp and head-coach Dino Toppmöller concerned about the prospects of securing the coveted second direct Europa League qualifying place.

Points were dropped against a beatable opponent. Eintracht's remaining schedule features fewer such competitors. Stuttgart, Bayern, Leverkusen, and Leipzig are among the six teams the Hessen-based club must face before the season concludes. Both Toppmöller and Trapp expressed their concern when speaking to the DAZN microphones following last night's draw.
"There's a negative cloud hovering over us," Trapp said, "We've been justifiably criticized because the games haven't been pretty and the results weren't there. [Their goal] was incredibly annoying because we actually played a good game."
Trapp also referenced last week's home goalless draw with 1. FC Union Berlin when conveying his overall level of frustration. In the keeper's own words, "two points at home against Union and Bremen" left him doubting the squad's worthiness for Europe. Trapp emphasized that "the remaining schedule is brutal".
"It's difficult for me to grasp," Trapp noted, "We could have made huge strides [in the race for Europe], but this is difficult for everyone to digest. We talk about conceding bad goals every week. We still have everything in our hands and are not cannon fodder, but must stay on our toes."
"It's disappointing and frustrating when one doesn't come away from a game like this with a win," Toppmöller added, "We had set our sights much higher."
