Official: Leonardo Balerdi joins Marseille on loan from Dortmund
BVB defender Leonardo Balerdi has completed a move to Marseille on loan.
Borussia Dortmund centre-back Leonardo Balerdi joined Olympique Marseille on a season-long loan deal, the two clubs have announced.
"Leonardo Balerdi approached us with a transfer request. He is hoping to get more playing time in Marseille. We would like to thank him for his commitment and wish him every success for the future," said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc in a statement.
The Argentine centre-back was linked with a move to Marseille before he joined Dortmund from Boca Juniors for €15.5 million in January 2019.
Since then, he has been limited to just eight appearances for BVB.
