Ralf Rangnick singles out Leon Goretzka as the world's best box-to-box midfielder

Leon Goretzka is better than everyone else at doing what he does, claims Ralf Rangnick.
Bayern München's Leon Goretzka has been singled out as the best box-to-box midfielder in the world by former RB Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick.

Goretzka has emerged as a key player for the German champions this season, chipping in with eight goals and 11 assists in 37 games, and Rangnick is very impressed with what he has seen from the 25-year-old in recent months.

"The way Goretzka has played recently, he is currently the best box-to-box player in the world for me," Rangnick wrote in a column for Kicker.

Rangnick then went on to assess Bayern's chances of beating Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on Sunday.

"For me, Bayern are the favorite and currently the measure of all things. In the past 30 years, they have never played at such a high tactical level as under Hansi Flick. You could say that they play almost perfectly. They might have a small weakness when it comes to defending their own box, but that's a small thing. That's why I believe Bayern will win the final," the 62-year-old stated.
