Marcel Sabitzer has turned down a contract extension with RB Leipzig, according to Sky (via Fussballtransfers).

The Austrian international has reportedly set his sights on leaving the club on a free transfer in 2022 when his contract expires.

Leipzig will probably do all they can to prevent this scenario and could potentially cash in on their captain in the summer to avoid losing him for free.

The 26-year-old has been touted for a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal said to be interested in acquiring his services.

He made the switch to Leipzig from RB Salzburg in 2015 and has since gone to score 46 goals and make 38 assists in 206 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
