Kicker report: Bayern board provides definitive 'no' on Jerome Boateng contract extension
German footballing magazine Kicker cites insider sources to report that the FC Bayern München supervisory board has made a definitive decision on Jerome Boateng's expiring contract.
The 32-year-old World Champion's agent has apparently been informed that he must continue his footballing career elsewhere.

There nevertheless did exist a flicker of hope in the form of a trainer who has consistently sung the veteran defender's praises. Over the course his 18-month-tenure as head-coach of the FCB, Hans Dieter Flick steadily denied that he expected Boateng's departure.
In the autumn, incoming President Oliver Kahn floated the idea of a contract extension. Flick went so far as to endorse the idea at the time. Germany's Kicker nevertheless now reports that, as a collective, the board has decided that this cannot be considered.
Boateng's tenure to Bayern thus comes to a close after ten seasons, eight (very likely nine) league championships, and two-treble winning campaigns in 2013 and 2020. As of yet, there has been no comment yet from the footballer.
