Sport Bild Report: Henrichs' purchase clause activated, Leipzig owe AS Monaco €15 million
RB Leipzig's Tyler Adams had to be withdrawn from his club's 4-1 win over Werder Bremen over the weekend. On to replace the American, playing at the right back position on this particular day, came German international Benjamin Henrichs.
According to sources at Germany's Bild-Zeitung, this seemingly uneventful occurrence actually triggered Henrichs' purchase clause from AS Monaco.
The German Red Bulls now reportedly own the 24-year-old at a cost of €15 million.
Since the beginning of February, the Bundesrepublik's main sporting tabloid has reported that midfielder/defender Benjamin Henrichs' loan stint with RB Leipzig would be made permanent. Details on the loan-agreement in place with parent club AS Monaco later surfaced, with the newspaper divulging that an appearance-based purchase clause looked increasingly likely to be met.

On Sunday evening, Sport Bild revealed that the purchase clause had been activated with Henrichs' 15th club appearance over the weekend. The newspaper goes on to report that Henrichs will be revealed as a permanent member of the squad on Monday. The transfer fee is confirmed to be €15 million.
Even after results this weekend, it still looks unlikely that RB still have a chance of making a play at the league championship this year. Next year's squad may need some additional retooling over the summer, but it's important to keep in mind that the Saxons already have upwards up €65 million tied up in new players.
New arrivals Josko Gvardiol and Mohamed Simakan have allegedly cost the club a combined €34 million. Henrichs' purchase, combined with the estimated €18 million it cost to make Angelino's loan permanent enable one to arrive at that figure.
