VfB Stuttgart striker Silas Katompa Mvumpa has been handed a three-month suspension and a €30,000 fine by the German Football Association.

The player, formerly known as Silas Wamangituka, recently revealed that he had been forced to hide his true identity by his now former agent.

"The fact that Silas would be sanctioned by the DFB was clear to him and to us. It couldn't be any other way, according to the statutes," said Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat.

"At the same time, the ruling takes into account the special circumstances of his case, and we are pleased about that."
