Official: Hertha confirm Christensen signing, Friedrich denies there is an agreement for Ekkelenkamp

Germany's Charlottenburg capital city side confirmed the signing of Danish keeper Oliver Christensen on Thursday.

If a midday presser is any indication, confirmation of the purchase of young Dutch attacker Jurgen Ekkelenkamp might take a bit longer. 
liver Christensen of Odense BK is now officially a Berliner. Germany's "alte Dame" confirmed the signing of the 22-year-old Danish keeper to a long-term contract through 2026 on Thursday. The club released a brief statement from goalkeeping coach Andreas Menger, who said that the signing added to both "the quality and quantity of this position."



In terms of the Hertha signings reported on earlier in the day, that takes care of one of two transactions sporting CEO Fredi Bobic and the administrative team wish to conclude before Tuesday's transfer deadline. Sporting director Arne Friedrich was asked about the club's efforts to purchase Dutch attacking midfielder Jürgen Ekkelenkamp from Ajax Amsterdam.

Although it has been common knowledge that Hertha have been eyeing him for some time, Friedrich emphasized that there was still some way to go. The personnel boss denied earlier reports that club and player had come to terms.

"We are in good talks, but there is no agreement yet," Friedrich said.
