Union Berlin’s substitutes are at it again as Steffen Baumgart’s side salvaged a late draw away at fourth-placed VfB Stuttgart. Woo-yeong Jeong was the hero this time as his goal against his former club sustained their unbeaten start to 2026.

"I feel great scoring the goal and that we got a point,” Jeong said after the game. “We've practiced situations like that many times, so I just had to concentrate when I took the shot. I think the result is deserved in the end."

His coach also shared that sentiment as Union Berlin went five games without defeat for the first time this season. “The result sometimes sounds as if we were lucky, but if you look at the entire match, we had more chances,” said Baumgart after Union Berlin earned their first point in Stuttgart since 2022.

“In the end, the boys came back once again, and the 1-1 draw was okay. I also saw two very good goalkeepers today because Freddie (Frederik Rønnow) also made some outstanding saves."

Union Berlin’s next three games will also be against Champions League hopefuls as they face Borussia Dortmund, TSG Hoffenheim, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
