Mohamed Amoura could end up in Italy's Serie A, based on Fußball Transfer's sources, with Udinese Calcio showing interest.
Amoura both wants and is expected to leave the Autostadt club after their relegation from the Bundesliga last season.
A year-long loan option has recently become more likely, as the transfer window in Europe's top leagues closes on Tuesday.
Amoura, who is high on Udinese's shortlist, is still under contract with Wolfsburg until 2029 which gives them negotiating power.
Other clubs reportedly interested in the Algerian international include newly promoted Schalke 04 and Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille.
Last season, despite falling out of favour in the Wolfsburg camp, Amoura produced 8 goals and 3 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances.
