The prospects of Josha Vagnoman’s future at VfB Stuttgart is uncertain, according to the latest report from Kicker.

Back in October, Vagnoman publicised his wish to remain at the Swabian club stating: “A contract would be a nice thing, I would be happy if it happened”.

At the time, talks began with the player’s agent as he entered the final year of his contract, but since then no progress has been made.

Kicker suggests that the talks between the German full-back and the club are on hold. The reason being Stuttgart want to wait and assess their options.

Competition for places is believed to be the crux of the rumoured stalling. Leonidas Stergiou played three consecutive games at right-back and impressed in Vagnoman’s absence.

The Swiss international arrived from St.Gallen on loan last campaign before Stuttgart activated a €2million purchase fee in summer and is still just 22 years of age.

It is believed that Stuttgart and Vagnoman, who has made 62 appearances for the club since arriving in 2022, will assess their options in the coming weeks.
