As Fabrizio Romano reports, Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement with Cassiano Kiala on extending his contract.

The 16-year-old's current deal is set to expire in 2027, but transfer specialist Romano senses the new contract is imminent.

The prospect of being given more playing time going forward was said to be a key factor in enticing Kiala to remain in Munich.

A handful of Premier League clubs had recently been vying intensely for the rising star who is tipped to become a top centre-half.

Chelsea and Manchester City, among others, tried to convince him to make the move, but Bayern won the race for his signature.
