When VfB Stuttgart announced their starting lineup for Friday's Bundesliga clash with FC St. Pauli, 20-year-old Chema Andrés was included, partnering Angelo Stiller in central midfield ahead of captain Atakan Karazor.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness lavished praise on the new signing from Real Madrid.

“Chema has performed at a high level from the very beginning,” Hoeness said.

“The baseline level he brings as a 20-year-old is impressive. He is very mature, focused and clear-headed, and he has already delivered strong performances with us.

“But the boy has just arrived. My job is to ensure he has the time he needs to consistently perform at the top level.”

The Spanish midfielder could start again when Stuttgart face Celta Vigo in the Europa League on Thursday.
