1. FC Kölnsuffered a significant injury blow in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with VfL Wolfsburg, as new signing Rav van den Berg was forced off with a shoulder problem.

The Bundesliga newcomers have confirmed that van den Berg will be sidelined for several weeks as he requires shoulder surgery.

The Billy Goats spent a reported €8 million to bring the Dutch centre-back to Germany from Middlesbrough over the summer.

He made just two appearances for Köln before suffering the injury.

With van den Berg out, Tom Krauß could step in to partner Timo Hübers and Joel Schmied in central defense.
