FC Bayern Munich youngster David Santos Daiber is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

As reported by Bild, the 19-year-old has suffered a torn muscle tendon in his left thigh and is expected to be out for at least three months.

It’s a frustrating setback for both Bayern and Daiber, who had only just returned to team training.

The injury is set to rule him out for the remainder of the season, as well as Bayern’s pre-season preparations ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Daiber is not the only academy prospect currently sidelined, with Wisdom Mike, Maycon Cardozo, Erblin Osmani and Guido Della Rovere also unavailable.

The Portuguese U19 international made his Bundesliga debut in a 4-0 win over Heidenheim on December 21, and also featured in a 4-1 victory against Gladbach in March.
