In a post-match interview, Bayer 04 coach Xabi Alonso made it clear that he sees plenty of room for improvement for his team at the moment.

“We can't be happy at the end of the day, we gave the lead away twice. It's not the first time that's happened to us this season," Xabi Alonso said.

“There are a few things we need to correct. We can and have to defend better. At the moment we are lacking certain solidity. We'll get better when we get that back.”

In their next game, Leverkusen face Elversberg in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.
