Years ago, TSG Hoffenheim star Andrej Kramarić was linked with a move to Bayern Munich, but the transfer never materialised.

In an interview with Kicker, the 34-year-old now admits that he regrets not joining the Bavarians at the time.

Asked if he feels he missed out on anything in his career, Kramarić replied:

“I can say it openly: Bayern Munich. In hindsight, that’s the only club where I think maybe I should have done it.

“But we’ll never know how it would have turned out. That was at a time when there were Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller and all the others, so it was clear I wouldn’t have played as much as I have here,” added Kramaric.

“Financially, I would definitely have been better off, including for the stages that followed,” he admitted.

Overall, however, Kramarić is pleased to have spent the last ten years at Hoffenheim, where he has amassed 147 goals and 71 assists in 342 appearances.

“I never actively pushed for a transfer, as sometimes happens. I’ve always been a cooperative partner for Hoffenheim,” Kramarić said.

“That’s why I’m still here. I never would have dreamed that, as a Croatian, as a foreigner, I would write a story like this in the Bundesliga and achieve such a status at Hoffenheim.”
