Back in November, Bayer Leverkusen were reported to be considering activating a buy-back option to re-sign Kerim Alajbegovic from RB Salzburg.
However, according to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga club have now decided not to bring the 21-year-old back during the winter transfer window.
Leverkusen will reassess the possibility of re-signing the promising winger in the summer.
Alajbegovic was sold to Salzburg last summer for €2 million, and a return would reportedly cost around €8 million.
Since his move, the Köln-born talent has impressed in Austria’s top flight, scoring six goals in 14 league appearances.
