News has just broken that 27-year-old midfielder Florian Neuhaus is set to stay at Borussia Park as things stand. German tabloid newspaper BILD reported the decision to turn down his move to Turkey was made shortly before midday.

Earlier this morning, famed Italian sports reporter Fabrizio Romano declared that Turkish Super League side Besiktas had taken an interest in the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder who has only made 8 appearances this campaign.

With the winter transfer window closing in Turkey on the evening of Tuesday 11th February, Besiktas proposed a loan with an option to buy in the future.

However, Die Fohlen have opted against the move with the German transfer window already shut therefore finding a replacement would be practically impossible.

With only Julian Weigl and Philipp Sander fit and available in Neuhaus’ position, the decision seems a practical one. Gerardo Seone is light on personnel in that area with Rocco Reitz currently sidelined through injury.

While he may only be a sporadic player under Seoane, Neuhaus once attracted attention from the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool in his peak. There were rumours of a loan spell with Ruhrpott neighbours VfL Bochum circling a few weeks ago but murmurings of a move died down quickly.
