Algerian international Farès Chaïbi hopes to consolidate his place in Eintracht Frankfurt’s starting lineup after his goal and assist secured a 2-0 win over SC Freiburg. The Eagles are now ahead of their guests in the standings as they climbed to seventh place.

“We received a tremendous amount of input from the coach,” Chaïbi gives the credit to Albert Riera after the game. “He gave us a lot, and we finally broke through. Now we'll make sure we continue in the same vein.

“It's been very difficult for me these past few weeks. That makes scoring the goal all the more satisfying. It was a very close game. We managed to get back on the winning track. I'm continuing to work hard. Of course, I'm very ambitious and always want to be in contention for a starting spot.”

Chaïbi started the campaign in excellent form, but he struggled to keep that up especially after the end of the African Cup of Nations. His Sunday’s goal is the first in the Bundesliga since his first of the season in the sensational 6-4 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
