RB Leipzig are back on track for the Champions League qualification race as they complete the double over newly-promoted Hamburger SV. Ole Werner was under pressure before the game, but the performance was also satisfying for the club after they only managed one win in the previous five Bundesliga games.

“We controlled the entire game,” said the former Werder Bremen coach after the game. “Everyone did what they were supposed to do. That led to us barely giving up any chances. As a result, the crowd, which often play a role here in Hamburg, couldn’t really impact the game.

“This is the first time that we've managed to come back and win a game. We didn't get nervous, but instead stuck to our game plan. We could even have put the game to bed earlier."

Leipzig only earned a single point from losing positions in the previous seven occasions this season. The fifth-placed team will host Augsburg before facing two of their direct rivals in Stuttgart and Hoffenheim.
