After months of negotiations, Borussia Dortmund and Nico Schlotterbeck have reportedly reached an agreement on a new long-term contract.

According to Kicker, the Black and Yellows are set to announce an extension running until 2031 for the Germany international, whose current deal expires in 2027.

The report claims that BVB have agreed to include a release clause of €50–60 million that will only apply to a select number of clubs and become active as early as this summer.

It had previously been suggested that Schlotterbeck could earn up to €14 million per year, but Kicker reports that his actual salary will be closer to €10 million plus bonuses.
