Bremen to wrap up Mbangula transfer on Monday

Several reports have confirmed that Samuel Mbangula is on his way to Bremen.

Werder Bremen are finalizing a deal to bring the Belgium U21 international Samuel Mbangula from Juventus to the Weserstadion. The transfer fee will be around €10 millon without performance-related bonuses.

It’ll be the second most expensive incoming transfer in the history of the club. Bremen signed Davy Klassen from Ajax for a reported €13.5 million in 2018. Since then, the biggest they have spent on a player was when they splashed €7 million for Leonardo Bittencourt in 2020.

In that same year, Mbangula joined Juventus U17 from Anderlecht’s esteemed academy for €300K. The winger scored 3 goals in 23 Serie A appearances for the Bianconeri. He was also on the scoresheet in a Champions League knockout stage tie against PSV. The 21-year-old will likely fly to Bremen on Monday.
