Named the 2025/26 Bundesliga Rookie of the Season, Yan Diomande enjoyed a standout debut campaign in Germany’s top flight for RB Leipzig, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists following his €20 million move from Leganés last summer.
Unplayable with his blistering pace and silky skills, Diomande won more duels (437) and completed more dribbles (115) than any other player in the league.
As a result, it comes as little surprise that the Ivorian winger has been named RB Leipzig’s clear Player of the Season by the Bulinews writing team.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCE:
The best of many impressive displays arguably came in RB Leipzig’s emphatic 6–0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in December, when Diomande scored a stunning second-half hat-trick.
His first goal was smashed home after Antonio Nusa was brought down, with the loose ball falling kindly to Diomande inside the box. He followed it up with a composed left-footed finish from the edge of the area before completing his hat-trick by rounding Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer and finishing into an empty net.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS:
Christoph Baumgartner also enjoyed an impressive season for RB Leipzig, racking up 13 goals and eight assists, and received one of the 10 votes from our writing team, while Diomande collected the other nine.
