After an impressive debut season at FC Bayern Munich following his move from Crystal Palace in 2024, Michael Olise has taken his game to an even higher level this season, scoring 18 goals and providing 29 assists in 43 appearances so far.

Most recently, he caught the eye in Bayern’s 6-4 aggregate Champions League quarter-final win over Real Madrid and was named Player of the Match in the second leg.

FC Bayern and Germany legend Oliver Kahn believes the Frenchman has put himself in the Ballon d’Or conversation with his recent form.

“If you look at his performances over the past few weeks, then Michael Olise is definitely on his way towards the Ballon d’Or,” Kahn told Sky Germany.

Kane: Olise among the best in the world

Olise has generally received glowing praise for his performances against Real Madrid.

Speaking after Bayern’s 4-3 second-leg win over the La Liga giants, Harry Kane said he sees his teammate as one of the best players in the world right now.

“You can see the determination from him to be one of the best in the world, and right now, he is definitely up there,” Kane said in a post-match interview.

“So if he keeps putting in performances like he has throughout the whole season, but especially in these big moments, he is going to be a big player for us, for sure.”
