Speaking to Rheinishe Post, Bayer Leverkusen's Piero Hincapié expressed happiness regarding his recovery from a recent groin surgery.

"I feel good and can train again. In Brazil, I initially did some individual training, but I feel great and am now back to 100 percent.

“It's important that I feel good. That's definitely the case again, and I'm delighted that I can now train with the guys again and give it my all,” he said.

Regarding the recent upheaval at Die Werkself with high profile players departing, the Ecuadorian holds a positive outlook on matters.

"I think I can help the team and especially the young players. I'm still young myself, but I've been here for a few years now, gained important experience, and won titles.

"I want to be a good role model for the guys we need to integrate into the team and do everything I can to make them feel welcome and like they're part of a family.

“Because that's the most important thing for performance. We always pay close attention to team spirit at Bayer 04,” the 23-year-old defender explained.
