Galatasaray issue statement on Musiala transfer links

It raised eyebrows when Turkish media linked Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala with a surprise move to Galatasaray earlier this month.

However, German reports quickly dismissed the speculation, and Galatasaray have now also moved to distance themselves from the links to the Germany international.

“The reports that our club has reached an agreement with Jamal Musiala and Bayern Munich are not true. This is hereby brought to the public’s attention,” a statement from Galatasaray read, as reported by Turkish media.

Following Germany’s disappointing World Cup exit, Musiala underwent a procedure to remove a plate from his foot that had been inserted during surgery after the serious injury he sustained last year.

Now on the road to recovery, the 23-year-old will be hoping to return in time for Bayern’s first competitive fixture of the new season: the DFL-Supercup clash against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park on August 22.
