Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed the signing of Enzo Leopold from Hannover 96.

The 25-year-old midfielder makes the switch to Borussia-Park on a free transfer and has signed a contract until 2030.

“Enzo has developed into a mainstay in central midfield over four years at Hannover 96,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach head of sports Rouven Schröder.

“He leads by example, goes about his work on the pitch with discipline and great intensity, but is also a good technical footballer with a strong tactical understanding. Last season, as captain of his team, he also took a big step forward in terms of leadership.

“His greatest ambition was to play in the Bundesliga – and we’re convinced that this is the logical and right step for him.”

Enzo Leopold, who captained Hannover 96, commented:

“It was always my dream to play in the Bundesliga. For it to happen at a club of this size is obviously special. I can’t wait to get started here and I can promise all the fans that I’ll always give 100 percent.”
